About the University of Sussex
The University of Sussex is a public research institution situated in Falmer, East Sussex, England. Although it is primarily located within the city limits of Brighton and Hove, it extends into the Lewes District on its eastern border.

Scholarship Eligibility: University of Sussex
- The scholarship is available to Afghan students who wish to pursue a BA in Music or Music Technology.
- To be considered, applicants must identify as a woman or non-binary, have received an offer to study Music BA or Music Technology BA starting in September 2023, and demonstrate evidence of strong musical ability.
- Applicants may have a higher level of Music within their International Baccalaureate (with at least grade 5) or provide other evidence of musical ability outside of their International Baccalaureate studies.
Application requirements for a scholarship at the University of Sussex
- Once applicants have received an offer for a Music course at Sussex, they are eligible to apply for the Gazelle Twin Scholarship for Women in Music Technology (2023).
- To complete the application, applicants must provide a personal statement and an audio or video sample of their musical work. This could include a portfolio of compositions, songs/tracks, recordings of public performances, or a combination of these.
- Applicants should meet the admission requirements of obtaining 30-32 points overall from the full IB Diploma. However, if they do not have a formal music qualification but have a strong UCAS application, Sussex may ask for evidence of their musical ability. This is part of the selection process.
- To meet the language requirements, applicants must have an overall score of 6.0 in the IELTS (Academic) exam, including a minimum score of 5.5 in each component. It is critical for applicants to confirm that their IELTS qualification meets all of the language requirements.
