About Springfield College

Springfield College is a private college in Springfield, Massachusetts. It offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees. It is well-known as the birthplace of basketball due to the fact that the sport was invented there in 1891 by Canadian-American instructor James Naismith.

Springfield College was established in 1885 as the Young Men’s Christian Association Department of the Schools for Christian Workers in Springfield.

physical therapy, and physical education. The College comprises four schools. The School of Arts and Sciences offers degrees in the fields of arts, science, business, and education, as well as 59 undergraduate courses and 8 graduate programs.

The School of Physical Education, Performance and Sport Leadership is home to undergraduate and graduate programs in health and wellness occupations, including applied exercise science, nutrition and so forth.

In addition, the School of Health Science and the School of Social Work and Behavioural Sciences. the College provides bachelor’s degree programs and master’s degrees in human services, business, education, and counselling to working adult students at its four regional campuses and online.

The College is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE). According to U.S. News & World Ranking Report, Springfield College is ranked 26 among regional universities in the North Region for 2021.

This marks the sixth consecutive year that it has been in the top 30. U.S. News also ranked the College 18 among Best Value Schools for Regional Universities North, the school’s fifth consecutive year on the list.
