Opportunity Description

In order to help Afghan women continue their postgraduate degrees full-time in Scotland during the academic year 2023–2024, the University of Dundee (UoD) has created unique scholarships for them. A full tuition price remission and monthly living allowance are included in this fully funded scholarship. In addition to the living expense stipend, students may also benefit from the housing allowance, which is paid directly in monthly installments.

Application candidates for the University of Dundee are the only ones eligible for this opportunity. An applicant who is already enrolled in the university’s study program will not be considered. In the event that you are given this scholarship, it will be valid for the entire time that you are enrolled in your course of study.

Once you have matriculated, the University of Dundee won’t alter your tuition or immigration status, and they won’t stop funding your scholarship if your immigration status changes while you are a student. The University’s financial assistance for tuition, living expenses, and housing will terminate when the study program is completed.

Benefits of The Scholarship for Afghan Women

Successful candidates will benefit from this Scholarship program as follows:

  • A full tuition fee waiver for one year of study;
  • A monthly living cost allowance in line with the UKVI Living Cost requirement;
  • A monthly allowance for accommodation, in line with the University Accommodation amount;
  • Access to the University’s Pre-Sessional English programs if needed.

NOTE: Students can choose to live in private or University accommodations. For private housing, the UoD doesn’t pay for additional fees related to the cost of private accommodation, such as deposits, utility bills, or damages. Also, students will not receive any furnishing costs for unfurnished properties. The scholarship will not provide additional charges for late or other residence-related fees for students living in the University accommodation.

 Eligibility Criteria for The Scholarship for Afghan Women

All applicants  should meet the following requirements to apply for the University of Dundee (UoD) Scholarship:

  • Applicants must be female and hold Afghan nationality;
  • Be a with fee status: International
  • Be able to prove their nationality and country of residence;
  • Entering a full-time, on-campus Postgraduate Taught program;
  • Not apply for an Undergraduate and Postgraduate Research program because this scholarship doesn’t cover these research programs;
  • Hold a conditional or unconditional offer to enter the study at the University of Dundee.

How to Apply?

Afghan women interested in the University of Dundee’s Scholarship can apply following the steps:

  • First, apply to one of the programs mentioned above by completing its application form via the University of Dundee website; after completing the self-verification check.
  • Submit a  completed application form for the scholarship separate from their main program application.
  • The University will verify the submitted documentation to prove the applicant’s Residential Category and Immigration Status and all information.
  • Successful applicants will receive notification through email.

How to get an ID number?

Once you applied to study at the University of Dundee, you will be issued a University of Dundee applicant ID. If you have already applied to the university, please look for the ‘University of Dundee – Direct Application System account creation’ email from the University confirming your ‘Reference’/ ID number.
